
Free Athletic Physicals for students entering grades 7-12 next year will be offered April 24 at the GPHS gym. Students will not be eligible to participate in any athletic event, including bowling and golf without a physicals. If a student could possibly play in any sport, they should go ahead and get this done.
Students must have their medical history form filled out and signed BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN PRIOR to the physical.

Congratulations to the Guy-Perkins Sr. Quiz Bowl Team for finishing 3rd in the AGQBA 1A State Tournament on Saturday at UACCM. Sonny Beale was named to the All-Tournament Team. Thanks to Kevin Cummings and Joe Fisher for serving as coaches this season. We are T-bird Proud!

Last week our 9th graders attended the Build My Future event at the Conway Expo Center. Students interacted with over 50 area businesses in construction, welding, masonry, electrical, electronics and many more.

There are track meets scheduled for this Thursday, April 10. 7th-9th grade will compete at Cabot, while 10-12th grade will compete at Batesville. Both meets begin at 3:00 pm.

The Guy-Perkins School District is monitoring the weather situation closely today. Please know that if a severe weather warning is issued, students will be directed to the elementary school hallway. If the warning is issued close to our school dismissal time, the district will delay dismissal until the severe weather has passed. Parents and residents of Guy are welcome to come to the school if a warning is issued. There will be no checkouts once we are in severe weather lockdown. We will shelter in place. Your child's safety and the safety of our teachers/staff are our top concern and we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

The Guy-Perkins High School Quiz Bowl Team secured their spot in the 1A State Quiz Bowl Tournament with a second-place finish at the 1A-Central Region Tournament held on Saturday at Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton. The Thunderbirds averaged 204 points per game with sophomore Sonny Beall earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Guy-Perkins will compete in the 1A State Tournament on Saturday, April 12, at UACCM in Morrilton. Congratulations to Coaches Kevin Cummings and Joe Fisher and the Senior Thunderbird Quiz Bowl Team!


The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 11:00 PM tonight (Friday). In response, Guy-Perkins Elementary School will open its tornado shelter to the Guy community if a Tornado Warning is issued for the area. A special thanks to Ms. McKinney for hosting the shelter this evening.
