In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our students will be studying different Hispanic authors and poets. Take some time to learn about this great culture and the many accomplishments of our Hispanic community in our nation's history.

Reminder: Guy-Perkins will be hosting our annual Flu Shot Clinic on Wednesday, October 6th in the Cafeteria. Flu Shot forms are available in the Elementary and HS offices. Flu Shots are FREE for all GP students and staff members. Only students with signed permission forms will receive a shot.
Only 67% of Guy-Perkins families have completed a "meal form" for the 21-22 school year. These forms can be completed "on-line" keeping the information confidential. Help us have 100% completion of "meal forms" BEFORE October 1, 2021. Complete your form by going to www.ezmealapp.com. Thank you!

It's been a great celebration week at Guy-Perkins High School! We've had students participate in our county fair (FFA, FCCLA). The ladies golf team took second place in the district and qualified for the state tournament. We have three students place in a statewide essay competition for Peace Week. We had college recruiters from University of Arkansas and Central Arkansas speak with our seniors. Finally, we had a record number of students take the Accuplacer College exam through UACCM with a majority number scoring high enough to earn a scholarship through that university. This only proves that GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING at Guy-Perkins High School!

Congratulations to Coach Lisa Halk and the Thunderbird Girls' Golf Team for qualifying to play in the 1A State Tournament next week at Mountain Ranch (Fairfield Bay)! Team members are Analee Baker, Emily Jones-Reynolds, and Autumn Crites. #greatthingshappeninghere

Guy Perkins FCCLA attended the 2021 Faulkner County Fair to enter Baked Goods today. We also were able to watch one of our own, Lilly Rooney, show Dairy and win Grand Champion. It was a great day at the Fair! #greatthingshappeninghere

Fall Festival Raffle Tickets are available in the Elementary and HS offices. Parents can come by the office to pick up tickets. You can also call the office or send a note with your student and we will gladly send tickets home with them for you. Please help our PTO and our school out.
Come join the Guy-Perkins PTO for their monthly meeting! The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building (Old Main).

Don't forget the Blood Drive is tomorrow (Tuesday)!

Do you know someone with a three, or four-year old?

Tomorrow is "Picture Day" at Guy-Perkins! These photos will be used for the 2021-22 yearbook so students are encouraged to dress nicely. Picture order forms went home last week so if you need another form, contact the school office Monday morning.

Thanks to all of our Thunderbird families who filled out the free/reduced meal form for this school year. Each family completing the form was entered into a drawing for one of two 32 GB iPads. The iPad winners are the Montgomery family (7th and 9th grade) and the Felkins family (1st and 2nd grade). Congratulations to both of these families!

Statement from Guy-Perkins' Food Service Provider: OPAA Food Management is committed to serving quality, nutritious meals to students and staff. Like many other school districts across the nation, we too are experiencing supply chain issues and lack of delivery drivers. This may result in a reduced number of entrée choices available for breakfast and lunch until the supply chain issues are improved.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time while our Registered Dieticians and Culinary Team develop menu substitutions, as needed. Rest assured a free breakfast and lunch will be available to all students. We encourage you to visit Nutrislice on a daily basis for the most up-to-date menus. Download the Nutrislice app, or visit lookup.nutrislice.com to view daily menus.
