Thank you AR Department of Health and Guy-Perkins community for a successful COVID Vaccine Clinic! 41 vaccines given in 5 hours!

All parents of Guy-Perkins students are asked to complete the following "Ready for Learning" survey by Monday, August 2 to help inform the district of our students' needs and concerns: https://forms.gle/Q27527CbkYMWixVw7.

Just like last summer, Guy-Perkins students should be receiving in the mail a P-EBT card from the Department of Human Services that can be used to purchase food items. Some students may have already received their card and it is hoped by August 31 that all cards will have been mailed out to students' families. The dollar amount on the card is based on the numbers of days school was not in session due to Covid-19 related issues. Students may receive a one time benefit for the summer as well. We will keep families up to date as these benefits come out in the next few weeks. Please do not throw away any letter from the Department of Human Services. The call center does not have a list of students eligible, just what services are provided. Because our district was free to all students, all students are eligible.

Meet new First-grade Teacher, Kieara Forney. Kieara and her fiance', Todd, will marry in October 2021. Kieara's goals for this school year include "Educating, inspiring, motivating and learning WITH her students, and being the difference they need to see in a teacher!"

Meet new High School English Teacher, Amy Crider. Amy and her high school sweetheart, Mark, recently married in June. Amy's goals for this school year include "helping her students see the importance of reading comprehension and writing in today's world."

The Guy-Perkins School District has been selected as a COVID Vaccination site by the AR Department of Health. Vaccines will be given on Monday, August 2 in the HS Gym Lobby from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Any person in the community 12 years-old and up are eligible for the COVID vaccine.

Meet new 4-6 Language Arts Teacher, Natalie Horton. Natalie's husband, Rox, is a Pastor in Conway and they have a son, Blaine (13) and a daughter, Peyton (10). Natalie's goals for this year include "being a positive role model for her students' education and future."

Meet new K-12 Music Teacher, Joshua Harley. Josh's wife, Paige, is a Veterinary Tech at Mayflower Animal Clinic and they have a son, Elliot (7). Josh's goals for this school year include "getting students excited about making music" and showcasing their creativity and talents.

Thank you Scenic Hill Solar (Bill and Shanti Halter) for your generous donation of funds to purchase a new Yoderbilt greenhouse for Guy-Perkins Elementary School. The new greenhouse will help students with lessons and activities as part of the STEM curriculum. @scencihillsolar

The Guy-Perkins School District has been selected as a COVID vaccination site by the AR Department of Health. Vaccines will be given on Monday, August 2 in the HS Gym Lobby. Times will be announced soon. Ages 12 and up will be eligible for the COVID vaccine.

Guy-Perkins School District encourages ALL families to join us in helping protect students and staff from COVID-19/Delta Variant as we begin the new school year. We encourage everyone to stay protected by being vaccinated, or by wearing a mask while at school and on buses. The district is working with the AR Department of Health to set up a vaccination clinic on campus within the next few weeks for students, as well as area residents. We will announce the date, time, and place as soon as it is available.

All offices will be closed on Monday, July 5, 2021 to honor Independence Day! Have a safe and fun holiday!

I’ll have water; dress cool (shorts, tank top if you’re comfortable in it, tennis shoes). You can wear knee pads but they are not necessary - you do NOT have to go buy any. Come ready to learn and have fun😄
