The weather has proven to be quite unpredictable over the past few hours and out of extreme caution for our students and staff, Guy-Perkins School District will utilize an AMI Day for Wednesday, January 25. Students will need to communicate with their teachers and complete their AMI assignments to be counted as "present" for the day.

The T-birds are back home tonight for JG,SG,SB conference basketball games against the Scranton Rockets. Games begin at 5 p.m. $5/adults, $3/children, and FREE/Guy-Perkins students. Booster Club concessions are available so join us for dinner/game tonight in the Thunderdome!

The Senior Girls and Boys basketball games scheduled for Tuesday, January 24 against Marvell-Elaine have been cancelled. Coach Guiden is currently looking for senior high teams to play that evening.
Congratulations to Guy-Perkins sophomore Hogan Hicks and his partner for finishing 3rd in the advanced bracket of the "Roosters Cornhole Grand Opening Switcholio" this past weekend. Hogan is a member of Southern Elite Cornhole, and the American Cornhole Organizations. Great things are happening at Guy-Perkins!
Congratulations to Guy-Perkins High School for being awarded a $24,225 "Career Readiness/Work-based Learning" Grant. This grant will help support the "Farm-to-Table" program, as well as the "Internship" program for seniors. Special thanks to Lori Mitchell, CTE Coordinator at Arch Ford Co-op, for writing the grant. Out of respect for the players and coaches of Scranton High School, Tuesday's basketball games will be moved to Friday, January 20 at 5:00 p.m. Please join us in remembering the Scranton community as they pay their respects to those who lost their lives over the weekend.

Guy-Perkins Elementary will be celebrating our school therapy dog, Thunder's first birthday on Friday, January 13, 2023. For a $1 donation, your student can have his/her picture made with Thunder on Friday. We will print a copy and send home with your student.
The Lady Thunderbirds defeated Crossett 59-34 on Day 2 of the Episcopal Wildcat Tournament in LR. They will play for 5th place tomorrow at 5:30 PM.
The Lady Thunderbirds lost 49-69 in the first round of the Episcopal Wildcat Tournament in Little Rock today. They will face Crossett tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
The Thunderbird Senior Boys defeated Mammoth Springs 58-53 on Day 2 of the Bad Boy Tournament at Highland. They will play for 5th place tomorrow at 12:30 PM.
The Thunderbird Senior Boys lost to Izard County Consolidated 71-64 in OT in the first round of the Bad Boy Tournament in Highland. They will play the loser of the New School-Mammoth Springs game on Wednesday at 12:30 PM.

Kindergarten-6th grade students will be traveling to Hendrix College to see the play Rudolph today 12/16/22. Buses will leave campus at 11:30 today right after Elementary lunch. Parents/guests that PRE-purchased tickets to attend the play will need to meet the buses at Staples Auditorium on the campus of Hendrix College at 12:00 today so that you can be in line with our group.
