Vison Meeting
Due to inclement weather (or the threat of it), the Guy-Perkins School District canceled classes on Thursday, January 9, 2025, and Friday, January 10, 2025. While Arkansas law requires school calendars to include five (5) additional snow days at the end of the school year, districts are not obligated to use these days exclusively for make-up purposes. Other options are available for consideration. Guy-Perkins Parents - We value your input and invite you to share your preferences for how these two (2) missed days should be made up in the 2024-25 school calendar. Your feedback will help the School Board make an informed decision. Please keep in mind that additional snow or ice days may occur in the future, requiring further adjustments to the school calendar. Thank you for taking the time to provide your response: https://forms.gle/8V6tGnrBCZxR6AnE6

The Guy-Perkins School District will host its annual "Child Find" public meeting on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Administration Building. This meeting is part of the 2004 Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which requires school districts to identify and evaluate children with disabilities, from birth to age 21, within the district's attendance zone. The goal is to locate students who may need early intervention or special education services, but are not currently receiving them. For questions about the "Child Find" process or the meeting, please contact Special Education Supervisor Bethany Blair at bethany.blair@gptbirds.org.

A big thanks to the Guy-Perkins School District transportation and maintenance departments led by Damon Cardin. We are back in school today after all the snow and we couldn't have done it without his incredible leadership! A special thanks to all of our bus drivers - Jennifer, Connie, and Becky - who checked routes and made sure our students arrived safely this morning. And to Mr Stane for helping salt and clear our sidewalks this morning. Thank you for everything you do for staff and students! Dr. Fisher
