Guy-Perkins High School juniors Abigail Myrick and Miles Hale were recently selected to attend the 2024 Arkansas Girls and Boys State programs being held this week at Harding University and UCA. These programs provide students with a leadership and civic engagement experience and sponsored by the American Legion.
On Monday, Miles was elected by his peers at Boys State to serve as a Justice of the Peace for Rooks County. Congratulations to Abigail and Miles for representing Guy-Perkins High School!

The Guy-Perkins Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Tony Varnell has been named the new Thunderbird Jr./Sr. High Football Coach. He will join volunteer assistant coaches, Vino Morris and Jack Smoot, for the 2024 football season. Coach Varnell currently coaches the Thunderbird Baseball team and serves as the High School Business Teacher and District Technology Director.

It's not too late to sign up for Summer School Enrichment at Guy-Perkins Elementary. The program will run from June 3rd-27th, Monday-Thursday each week from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Transportation is provided. Students will have math, science, literacy, and social emotional learning blocks each day along with recess and other fun activities. Sign-up forms are in the Elementary Office or you can call 501-679-3509 to sign your student up as well.

2024 Graduates Cade Brister, Baxter Harrington, and Will Lamb recently attended the "Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day" in Russellville. They completed skills and interest assessments prior to the event and were assigned interviews with employers based on those results. They also developed their resumes and participated in mock interviews. Guy-Perkins is proud to announce that all three have received multiple job offers!


Severe weather is predicted for the Guy, AR area tonight. The tornado shelter at the Elementary School will be opened for the public, if a tornado warning is issued for the area. Ms. Susan McKinney will serve as the weather monitor tonight and open/close the shelter, if needed.
