For our high school parents and guardians, we now have a list of students who are getting very close to exceeding the number of absences per semester that are not related to Covid. Our handbook states absences are counted during each class period. So, a student could be fine in several classes, but be in violation in others. We are preparing to send out attendance letters and calls to parents/guardians of students who are very close to being in violation. We can not stress the importance of school attendance this year. Students are on campus 178 days and we need everyone here. High school students (9-12) who exceed the number of absences could lose credit for that class. If you have questions about your child's absences, please contact the school office.

October is National Principals Month! Please take a minute to show your appreciation for our amazing Elementary Principal, Tammy Murry, and our awesome High School Principal, Tim Barnes. Day, or night, they are "on the job" for our students and staff! #ThankAPrincipal

Elementary students are doing a great job selling raffle tickets for PTO! For every $10 worth of tickets sold, students get a treat. Any student who turns in a total of $50 will receive a FREE RECESS! Students who turn in a total of $100 in ticket sales will have a Movie Day/Pizza Party!
In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our students will be studying different Hispanic authors and poets. Take some time to learn about this great culture and the many accomplishments of our Hispanic community in our nation's history.

Reminder: Guy-Perkins will be hosting our annual Flu Shot Clinic on Wednesday, October 6th in the Cafeteria. Flu Shot forms are available in the Elementary and HS offices. Flu Shots are FREE for all GP students and staff members. Only students with signed permission forms will receive a shot.
Only 67% of Guy-Perkins families have completed a "meal form" for the 21-22 school year. These forms can be completed "on-line" keeping the information confidential. Help us have 100% completion of "meal forms" BEFORE October 1, 2021. Complete your form by going to www.ezmealapp.com. Thank you!

It's been a great celebration week at Guy-Perkins High School! We've had students participate in our county fair (FFA, FCCLA). The ladies golf team took second place in the district and qualified for the state tournament. We have three students place in a statewide essay competition for Peace Week. We had college recruiters from University of Arkansas and Central Arkansas speak with our seniors. Finally, we had a record number of students take the Accuplacer College exam through UACCM with a majority number scoring high enough to earn a scholarship through that university. This only proves that GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING at Guy-Perkins High School!
