Juniors Alexis Passmore and Colin Fisher have been selected to represent Guy-Perkins High School in the 2022 Arkansas Girls and Boys State program to be held May 29-June 3. The American Legion of Arkansas sponsors each participants room and board while at the host sites - Harding University and the University of Central Arkansas respectfully.
Arkansas Girls/Boys State is an immersive program in civics education designed for high school juniors. Participants are assigned a place in a mock political party, city, and county. Over the course of the week, delegates will nominate and elect officials to the various levels of their government. By the week’s end, delegates have experienced civic responsibility and engagement firsthand while making life-long memories and friends.
