Masks

Response to Latest COVID-19 Information

Beginning Monday, January 10, 2022, the Guy-Perkins School District will once again require that masks be worn by all staff, students, therapists, and other "approved" visitors beginning Monday, January 10th.  The Guy-Perkins School Board and administration  realizes that the district must respond quickly to the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in order to help keep all staff and students safe and healthy during this time.  This decision comes with strong guidance from the AR Department of Health and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Little Rock.  Specific district COVID-19 information can be found at ACHI website - https://achi.net/covid19/.

The ACHI website also reports that only 35% of the eligible children and adults living in the Guy-Perkins School District are "fully vaccinated" at this time.  "Fully vaccinated" means that a person has received at least two (2) Maderna or Pfizer vaccine shots, or at least one (1) Johnson & Johnson shot.  Anyone not "fully vaccinated" at this time is invited to attend a COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccination Clinic for both children and adults on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 3:00-6:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria (see flyer below).

Other Health and Safety Guidelines

The Guy-Perkins School District has put into place these additional safety measures during this time:

  • Checking temperatures at the door when arriving to school. (Note - Parents are encouraged to monitor their children for COVID-19 symptoms BEFORE sending them to school.)
  • Promoting the use of hand sanitizers in classrooms and frequent hand-washing in bathrooms.
  • Social-distancing of at least (3) feet between students.
  • Cleaning/disinfecting of classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, offices, and gymnasiums.

New Quarantine Guidelines (as of 1/6/22)
