Ready to Learn

The 2021-22 school year starts Monday, August 16!  Below is important information for you and your family as we begin the school year with COVID-19 restrictions:

Mask (Face Covering) Requirement -8/12/21:  The Guy-Perkins School Board adopted an Emergency Communicable Diseases Control Plan on Tuesday, August 10, 2021  requiring that all students, staff, and visitors to the district wear masks (face coverings).  A copy of this plan can be accessed HERE.  This plan was created in response to district and community stakeholder feedback, current COVID-19 infection data and recommendation of health experts, and the need to protect our students, especially those under the age of 12 who are unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.   To access a Statement from the ACHI Board, go HERE.

Registration for Returning Students:  Returning students will need to update their eSchool information HERE.  or may do so at Open House on Thursday, August 12.  A unique student snap code has been mailed to each student and will be required when accessing the registration website.  If you have questions about the eSchool registration, please email Megan Wilson at megan.wilson@gptbirds.org, or call 501-402-4364.

Open House:  Due to the district's current Emergency Communicable Diseases Control Plan,  a modified Open House will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.  All those attending must wear a mask (face covering) and be health screened at the office upon arrival.  Families are to visit campus using the following times:

  • Students with last names A - G  may visit campus from 5:30-6:00 p.m.
  • Students with last names H - M  may visit campus from 6:15-6:45 p.m.
  • Students with last names N - Z  may visit campus from 7:00-7:30 p.m.

First Day of School: August 16 (Make sure students are on the bus stop early.  Routes will be posted on the website and social media later in the week)

School Supplies:  School supplies are once again being provided by the Guy-Perkins PTO free of charge to students.  The PTO works hard each year to raise funds to help offset the cost of supplies for the district.  If your family would like to be a part of the Guy-Perkins PTO, they meet the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Administration Building (Old Main).

Food Service:  Once again this year, all meals will be served free of charge to students.  A la carte options will be available for students at an extra charge. Parents are encouraged to download the Nutrislice app to access lunch menus, or go to the district website an d click on the "Dining" button.  This year, the district will be collecting family income information from all families so that we can apply for addition federal funds next year.  Paper copies are being mailed to each student's home, or you can go to www.ezmealapp.com. and complete the form electronically.  Students whose family completes an income form will have his/her name placed into a drawing for a 32GB iPad.  Two winners will be selected.
