2020-21 Basketball Season Guidelines

Overview

Hello Thunderbird Fans! As we gear up for the beginning of the basketball season, we are mindful of the challenges we currently face with the Covid-19 pandemic. Our plan is to have fans in attendance for our games, both at home, and on the road. For student athletes to have an opportunity to participate in athletic competition moving forward, the district, coaches, players, and fans must adhere to the following guidelines:

Ticketing

Each student athlete will be allotted two (2) ticket vouchers for each home game in which they participate. Each voucher reserves one (1) admission ticket. Vouchers will be turned in at the gate when you pay your admission price. Please return any unused ticket vouchers via student athletes to the athletic department. Unused ticket vouchers will be used for general admission patrons. General admission vouchers will be available for pickup at the Thunderbirds Gas Station on a first-come, first- serve basis (limit 3 per household).  Due to attendance regulations, season passes will not be offered.

Seating

In accordance to guidelines from the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Activities Association, patrons who attend games must sit and remain in family groups. Families who have children present at games must keep them with an adult in your party at all times. Please avoid close contact with non-family groups, as much as possible.

Livestreaming

For those who cannot, or do not wish to attend games in person, ballgames will be streamed live across YouTube  https://tinyurl.com/y5bf5zg2 When more live-streaming information is available, we will pass it along.

Gym Entry

For social-distancing purposes, there will be two (2) points of entry into the gym.  One gate will be marked for “home” fans and the other for “visiting” fans. Please enter through the appropriate gate and find seating in the appropriate, marked areas. Admission fees remain the same this year - $4.00/adults and $3.00/students. Children under five (5) are free.  ALL non-athlete students and children under five (5) are required to be seated with their family groups.

Mask/Face Covering

Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask, or face covering at all times. Please avoid close contact gestures (i.e. handshakes, hugs, etc.) with non-family groups.

Concession Stand

When visiting the concession stand, please keep your mask/face covering on and remain on the socially-distanced floor markers. Please avoid close contact gestures (i.e. handshakes, hugs, etc.)

Restrooms

Please remain on the socially-distanced floor markings while going to the restroom. Maximum occupancy in each restroom is limited to three (3) people at a time.

Postgame Departure

Out of an abundance of caution, as soon as all games are over for the evening, you are asked to exit the gym in a prompt manner. This will allow us to remain in compliance with safety protocols and get a head start on cleaning and sanitizing our gymnasium. Student-athletes will be directed to promptly exit the gym after changing clothes in order to find their rides home.
