Guy-Perkins is proud to announce that Nikkina Porter will serve as the new Elementary School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. With more than two decades of experience in education, Porter brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role.
Porter’s professional background includes 18 years as a classroom teacher, 3 years in school administration, and a year working as an education consultant and coach. This broad range of experience has fueled her passion for nurturing students’ academic success, while supporting their emotional well-being and social development. “I am excited for the 2025–26 school year to serve as the Elementary Counselor,” she shared. “In this new role, I aim to support academic success, promote positive behaviors, and build strong connections. I’m thrilled to embark on this journey, empowering young minds and making a lasting impact in our school community!”
Her decision to join the Guy-Perkins team was a heartfelt one. “I chose to apply with Guy-Perkins because it feels like coming home,” she explained. “Growing up in a small district, I experienced firsthand the close-knit community and personalized attention that make such environments special. Having lived in the Guy area for 7 years, I'm excited about returning to that small school atmosphere and contributing to the great things going on at Guy-Perkins!”
When she’s not serving students, Porter enjoys a variety of hobbies including Bible study, gardening, kayaking, reading, hiking, and working on her property. She’s an active member of her church and loves serving alongside the youth group.
Porter lives in the Guy area with her husband, Matthew, and their daughter, Elleigh. Their home is filled with love and activity, thanks to two playful dogs, a lazy cat, a feisty chinchilla, and a spirited flock of 12 chickens.
Guy-Perkins welcomes Nikkina Porter and looks forward to the care and student-centered approach she will bring to the elementary campus.
