Guy-Perkins School District is proud to announce the hiring of Chip McDonald as Athletic Director and Head Volleyball, Girls Basketball, and Softball coach.
Coach McDonald has 22 years of teaching and coaching experience in Arkansas. His last stop was Midland School District where he was the head basketball coach for all four basketball teams. As girl’s basketball and softball coach at Calico Rock, the basketball team made three consecutive runs to the regional tournament. As softball coach, coach McDonald’s teams have made regional tournament and state tournament six out of eight years including a regional championship in 2022 and a state semifinal in 2017.
Coach McDonald’s wife Jamie is a special ed paraprofessional, he has a daughter Michelle who is a sophomore communications major at the University of Arkansas and is flute and piccolo player with the Razorback Marching Band, Coach McDonald’s son Austin is a freshman engineering major at Louisiana Tech University.
