Carson

Coach Jeremy Carson began his tenure as Lady Thunderbird Head Volleyball/Basketball Coach on February 28, 2024.  Prior to joining Guy-Perkins, he coached at Conway Christian (2010-2015), Clinton (2015-2020), and Cabot Junior High North (2020-2023).

When asked why he chose to come to Guy-Perkins, Coach Carson stated, "Guy-Perkins checks so many boxes for me. Having grown up in a small school, I prefer to teach and coach in a setting where I can really get to know students and impact their lives in a variety of ways.  Guy-Perkins is also known for a tradition of excellence in athletics and academics. I love the family environment amongst the staff and having the opportunity to coach here is a 'no-brainer' for me."

What are Coach Carson's expectations for the girls programs? "This first year is all about laying the foundation for our girls’ athletics programs. That starts with building up our numbers and excitement surrounding our sports. Second, this first year is about instilling a solid fundamental foundation on which our athletes can build their game. These fundamentals include creating new habits (skills, approach, and attitude) both on and off the court (eating breakfast, adequate rest, hydration, weight lifting)."

When not on the court, Coach Carson loves to hunt, fish, smoke meat, travel with his family, and jam with his rock band, A Year & A Day."  He is married to Patti (Brown), admissions coordinator for the American University of the Caribbean Medical School. They have two children, Jonathan and Kelsey. Coach Carson is already on the job assessing players and looking for more players to join the Lady Thunderbirds in 2024-25!
