January is "School Board Recognition Month" and the Guy-Perkins School District spotlights Zone 2 Board Member - Amy Stephens. Mrs. Stephens is a Stylist at the Hair Studio in Conway and has served on the Guy-Perkins School Board since May 2019. She says she serves on the Board because she cares about the well-being and education of the children in our community.
Mrs. Stephens is married to Davy and has three daughters: Chyanne - 21; Abby - 18; and Alice - 4. Both Chyanne and Abby are graduates of Guy-Perkins High School and Alice will start Kindergarten in the fall of 2021. Over the next 3-5 years, she would like to see the district enrollment numbers grow to over 350 students and achievement scores continue to improve and reflect the wonderful teachers, staff, and students found within the district.
