Veterans day Thanks

When COVID-19 forced the Guy-Perkins School District to close its doors in March of this year, our 2020 graduation ceremony had to be moved into the month of July.  Unfortunately, there were two seniors who were unable to attend because they were fulfilling their obligation with the United States Army.  Today, we welcomed home and recognized Jacob Branscum and Zakayla Gilreath during a special Veteran’s Day graduation ceremony.

Jacob is currently an E-4 in the U.S. Army and recently served 12 weeks at Fort Lee, Virginia in Advanced Infantry Training.  He is now back in Arkansas and attending Crowley’s Ridge College playing baseball and majoring in Business.  Jacob will continue to serve his state and country in the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Zakayla is currently an E-2 in the U.S. Army and recently served 12 weeks at Fort Lee, Virginia. She is now back in Arkansas and will be enrolling in college next semester. Zakayla will continue to serve her state and country through the Arkansas Army National Guard.

In addition, Arkansas' United States Senator, Tom Cotton, sent a special message in recognition of Jacob and Zakayla's service to their country.  To view the video, click here.
