Parents and students are reminded that tomorrow - Monday, February 5 - will be a student attendance day. This is to make up for one of the four snow days in January. The other make-up days are: March 4, April 1, and May 17.
The Guy-Perkins Jr. Quiz Bowl team is headed to the State 1A Quiz Bowl Tournament after finishing 3rd in the 1A Central Region Tournament. Freshman Sonny Beall earned All-Tournament honors. Congratulations Coaches Monica Clark and Joe Fisher!
Attention all families of the graduating class of 2024! Guy-Perkins will be hosting FAFSA night on Thursday, February 8 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm in the High School Computer Lab. College representatives will be available to help students/parents fill out the on-line FAFSA forms used in determining financial assistance for college. After a lengthy discussion and review of staff/parent feedback from surveys, emails, and social media posts, the Guy-Perkins Board voted Thursday night to use 2/5, 3/4, 4/1, and 5/17 to make-up the recent inclement weather days. The decision to combine three (3) Mondays and one (1) Snow Day as the make-up days was to preserve 30 of the 40 instructional hours lost PRIOR to ATLAS Testing in March and April. The District realizes that it is impossible to make a decision that will please everyone and apologizes for any inconvenience that the inclement weather and scheduling of make-up days causes our staff/families.
REMINDER: Deadline to place an order is this Friday, February 9th! Get you orders in!!Order forms were sent home yesterday (1/25/24) with Elementary students for Valentine's Day Candy Grams. The Elementary will have Valentine's Parties on Friday, February 16th in the afternoon. Candy Grams will be delivered to the classrooms that afternoon. Deadline to order is February 9, 2024. Guy-Perkins School District recently lost four (4) days of school due to inclement weather/poor road conditions. Since Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days no longer count towards the required instructional minutes needed per week, our District must determine when to make up these days in the remaining portion of the 2023-24 school calendar.
Please remember that each day in the Guy-Perkins School District calendar (4-day week) counts as 1.25 days of instruction in a regular school calendar. This means that students have actually lost the equivalent of five (days) of instruction in the regular calendar prior to Atlas Testing in March/April.

The recent winter weather has caused changes in the Guy-Perkins sports schedule for the next few days. Check it out! Please note that the basketball games at Shirley have been cancelled.
Due to the Winter Weather Advisory in our area, both the Early Childhood Center and Overtime Program will be closed at Guy-Perkins on Monday, January 22. The Sr. basketball games at Scranton have also been postponed. Student and staff safety is a priority at this time so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Due to continued bad road conditions, Guy-Perkins School District will be closed January 19th. The daycare will be open. The basketball games with Shirley have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Please continue to be safe and warm.
The postponed JG, SG, SB basketball games at Scranton (Tuesday) have been rescheduled for Monday, January 22, 2024 at Scranton beginning at 5:00 PM.
Due to the condition of area roads and for the safety of staff and students, Guy-Perkins Schools will once again be closed on Thursday, January 17, 2024. District staff have been clearing parking lots and salting sidewalks. Higher temperatures tomorrow should give us a good chance to return to school on Friday. We will announce Friday's plans tomorrow afternoon.
Guy-Perkins Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 17 due to continued poor road conditions, especially on side roads. The cold temperatures are making it extremely difficult for staff to clear sidewalks and parking lots on the Guy-Perkins campus. Stay safe and warm!
Guy-Perkins will be closed on Tuesday, January 16 due to poor road conditions from the winter weather. Basketball games for Tuesday and the Beta Club Conference on Thursday have also been postponed. A decision regarding school for Wednesday will be announced Tuesday afternoon.
